Currently there are a number of key changes and areas for development within maths education and recognition of individual teacher’s work on these areas and ability to develop others within their department is needed. The step to Subject Leader or Lead Practitioner is often taken to keep teachers in the profession; the EMTP exposes those that are ready for the step have the core values in line new maths teaching initiatives.
